Six hundred and forty grams. Twice the substance of the standard sheet and effectively a board — it takes a full flood without stretching, without cockling and without taping, which is the only reason to pay this much for one sheet.
It is also the sheet to use when you intend to lift and rework the same passage repeatedly. There is enough material to abuse.

- 100% cotton rag, acid-free, internally and surface sized, cold-pressed. Chlorine-free. Single sheet.

- Finish & variation
- Moderate cold-pressed tooth, marginally more pronounced than the 300 gsm because of the thickness. Two deckles, two torn edges.
- Made
- Mould-made on a cylinder machine at a mill in Somerset, England, then rested and sized before it is cut. Two true deckles per sheet, two torn.
Care
- Store flat. At this weight a stored curl is permanent.
- Handle by the edges — skin oils resist a wash and show as pale patches later.
- Stretch or tape the sheet down before a heavy wet wash.
Cautions
- Not for a sketchbook or anything that has to fold. It will crack along a hard crease and the crack shows through any subsequent work.
- Not archival once it has been worked with a non-archival medium — the sheet is acid-free, but what you put on it may not be.
- Deckle edges are irregular by design and vary sheet to sheet. Do not order expecting four machine-cut edges.
